Clinical Characteristics of COVID-19 among Children in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Objective − To present the characteristics of children with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) treated at Pediatrics Department, Ilidža Primary Health Care, The Public Institution Centre Sarajevo Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Methods This is a descriptive cross-sectional study 56 confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection between March 2020 May 2021. parameters included were: aged 0-6 years, gender, clinical signs symptoms, type transmission, presence comorbidities, vaccination Bacillus Calmette – Guérin (BCG) vaccine, laboratory radiology results, treatment. Results Out total 57.1% were 3-6 years. There 58.9% boys 41.1% girls, 36 had symptoms 20 asymptomatic. most common fever (57.1%) cough (35.7%). 44 mild form they home counseling by pediatrician over phone, 10 required outpatient treatment pediatrician, 2 hospitalized. After treatment, all them recovered. Most (83.9%) infected transmission from household member. Conclusions COVID-19 in generally disease. Children mostly contact an adult, minimal. symptomatically home, only small number
